To qualify for entry for the Johnstone Cup players must be full, affiliated or associate members of the County Association and have a HI between 12.5 and 20.4. There will be a draw for playing partners in twos or threes depending on the number of competitors.
The qualifying round is a women's 18 hole stroke play (medal) competition. The best gross scores (usually 16, but dependent on the number of entries) will qualify for the knockout match play tournament.
Gross and nett trophies and prizes will be awarded and the scores are included in the calculations for aggregate and club trophies. Prize giving will take place on completion of the match play tournament.
If the competition is oversubscribed, those with the highest handicap index will be balloted out. Also refer to para 7.a. of the County Rules and Terms of Competition regarding changes in HI after entry.
