To qualify for entry to the County Championships, players must be full members of the County Association. Upper handicap index (HI) is12.4. If the entry is over-subscribed, those with the highest HI will be balloted out. Players are only permitted to enter this competition if they have not entered the Silver Spring Challenge.
Rounds 1 and 2 combined comprise 36 holes of stroke play (medal), qualifying for the match play stages. Gross and nett trophies will be awarded for the best scores over the combined 36 holes. The best gross scores (usually 16, but dependent on number of entries) will qualify players for the knock-out match play tournament over the next two days to decide the County Champion placings. Prize giving will take place on completion of the match play tournament.
